Here He Is ! ! ! ! !
Kitty is, in fact, a boy....
Apparently his HUGE head is a sign of being a BIG TOMCAT !
He was SOOOO good at the vet !
He let them draw blood and comb out some of the mats in his hair and cut out the ones that wouldn't comb out...
He let them give him his shots and weigh him he even let them cut his talons...
The only time he wasn't perfect is when he freaked out when they took him in the back and he peed all over them and the old towel we gave them to carry him with...
Because he hadn't eaten or drunk water since we got him they said to try tuna and, if he hadn't eaten or drunk within 24 hours that we'd have to bring him back in to intervene....
When I got up this morning I was SOOO happy to see that he had eaten about 1/2 the tuna I'd put in there for him and had drank some of the water !
SUCCESS ! ! ! !
Now...if only we can get him to go to the bathroom...apparently he was holding his pee...but when he peed on them last night at least some came out of him....
Not only that...if we can get him to stop laying in the litter box....
At any rate...one step forward...
Now that you have the latest update....here's a couple of pictures of Kitty....

You probably can't see just HOW huge this cat is by this picture....during our visit J and I realized we should've taken a camera with us to the vet so we could get a better picture of him...

Look at this face....how SWEET is he???
He's just so sad looking that it breaks my heart...
I just hope that we can work with him and start winning his trust soon...
Now...
For a name....
Considering what we've named our other pets...it has to be a unique and fitting name...
We have Panya

And Agador Spartacus

And Stew the Bunny

This is the new challenge....
What to name this big guy?

LOVE those pics! In particular Stew! beautiful bunny!
Cat name: Kilroy. Because with his little eyes peering over the top of the litterbox he reminds me of the WW2 cartoon character with the same name peering over the wall.
BTW, Sassy, I hope you don't mind my posting my thoughts on the animals behavior.. my wife is a Vet Tech.. nurse for animals and she tells me a lot of their odd behaviors.

How about Mr Chunk or Love-handles! Sometimes names come to you after you've known the animal for awhile. My cats have so many nicknames because once we got to know them we realized so many names fit the personality.
He's so cute. Did he get a clean bill of health? I bet once he gets over his anxiety he'll be okay. The cat that I was taking care of (grizzly) held his pee too. I think because he was nervous. I can't imagine being an animal who can't speak and not understand what's happening to you. It may take a few weeks for him to get acquainted. Good luck. Keep us posted! Jane

Hey WCJ !
Thanks !
I will put your name suggestion into my "hat" that I will be pulling one from.
:)
I don't mind at all that you post your thoughts on the kitty's behavior. It's good to hear different points of view ! Not only that, this is the first cat I've had to take in as an adult...and directly from it's environment...my other two kitties were from a foster home and they were tiny babies...so all they can remember is me and growing up in our household.

Hey Jane !
I hear ya on the million nicknames for kitties - Panya & Agador have so many names it's hard to keep track ! :)
He did get a clean bill of health and I even introduced him to Agador a few times now. They aren't in direct contact - I'm keeping Kitty in the crate and Ag just visits through the grate on the front. Kitty just sits there - no reaction to Agador at ALL. Agador, on the other hand, is SOOOO happy about Kitty and he seems like he can't WAIT for the day Kitty can come out and play.
I hope it only takes a few weeks for him to start coming around, but I honestly think it will take longer. He is a cat that has, for his whole life, only known one other cat and J's grandfather...and when anyone came to the house Kitty would hide. Heck, from what I understand, he'd hide from J's grandfather during the day and only come out at night to sleep on him.
It's true - it HAS to be so hard for Kitty...he can't tell me anything verbally and I can't explain to him what the heck has been going on. I only hope that by working with him I can build a bond with him that turns him around even if just a little, and gets him to be comfortable with our household.

When I brought Mr Gray home we both said there'd be no way he'd ever be a people cat. he'd run and hide at the tiniest little noise. Sometimes he still does. Like yesterday the window was open and he heard the neighbor girls across the street talking in a really loud voice and he ran to hide.
But he's so much better than before. Now, he sits on our lap. We spent a lot of time building up trust. I think in his last home he was neglected and a bit abused. Sometimes still when I go to pet him he'll flinch but I always move slow and talk to him. One of the cutest things he likes to do (that he only recently started) is sleeping under my blankets with me. He'd never have done that when I brought him home. Good luck. He's such a cutie. Makes me want to get another cat but I've been told "NO" several times. Jane
