2004 in review:

……..

Kicked the year off with a cruise to the Bahamas with my entire family to celebrate Grandma’s 75th. As I get terribly seasick I only got to enjoy one day – the day we were in port. Though what a night that turned out to be ! My family partying hardy and me managing to make it back to our cramped little cell shortly before the sun came up.

……..

Had one HECK of a St. Patty’s Day party. All of our friends are used to us running late but this was the first year we were ready early ! Even so, everyone showed up about an hour after we’d scheduled the party to begin. Jason and I started drinking the moment we were done setting up, so by the time people started showing up we were already down 1 bottle of wine and around 4 Guinnesses. This will be remembered as the night all of Jason’s friends met “Southern Liz” for the first time !

……..

My brother got to make me feel SUPER old when he attended his senior prom, graduated from high school and started his first semester of college.

……..

Discovered hot yoga.

……..

Discovered a yoga center near the apartment with an instructor I LOVED and stopped going when she quit the studio.

……..

Made new friends at work with whom I’ve shared countless happy hours.

……..

Made other friends at work who are just as warped as I am and get my humor.

……..

Went to Florida.

……..

Met Jason’s mom for the first time.

……..

Nearly killed Jason’s dad countless times.

……..

Met my sister for the first time.

……..

Saw my dad for the first time in a great number of years.

……..

Attended a wedding that was just atrocious.

……..

Confronted the PITA who was after my man and thought she was being slick. She, so far as I know, has been MIA ever since.

……..

Got a new boss whom I don’t like much. He has a stuffed duck (as in he killed a it and had it stuffed by a taxidermist) in his office that scares everyone and is a little too “Westchester” for me. Haven’t killed him yet, though.

……..

Looked for, chose, bought and moved into the HOUSE.

……..

“Officially” started admitting that I live in New Jersey. Changed over my car and driver’s license and cried when they took my Connecticut license away from me. I now hang my head in shame when forced to admit what state I live in.

……..

Painted. A LOT.

……..

Didn’t go to Ireland because of house purchase and expect to die a spinster.

……..

Went to god knows how many doctor’s appointments for various ailments.

……..

Finally met Jackson the wonder dog !

……..

Saw my first bar fight.

……..

Had a heck of a housewarming where my Florida family flew up to surprise me.

……..

The NHL went on strike and it’s now a season without hockey ! WAAAAHHH ! ! ! !

……..

Saw DBB back together in a night of insane driving to Connecticut and back.

……..

Spent the first Thanksgiving in 2 years with my family. Surprisingly the dinner consisted of only 6 people as opposed to the usual 30+.

……..

Tore my ACL – or maybe not – the doctors can’t seem to agree and give me just one answer.

……..

Went to physical therapy to try to “fix” my knee to no avail.

……..

Resolved to just “deal” with this knee issue and get back to yoga and the gym considering the size I’ve managed to get myself up to since this knee injury happened.

……..

Started getting a grip on my finances and becoming a “responsible adult” (sort of).

……..

Discovered, and incidentally got addicted to, Panera Bread. Have since been a very vocal advertiser of the place and even got my mom hooked on their carb-filled delights !

……..

Realized that I've found a connection again. After Inky & Jinx I haven't been "connected" to any other animals. Until now. Thanks to my Doodlebug....

……..

Found that there is more to do on New Year’s Eve than sitting around looking at your friends. Went to a heck of a party instead !

……..
