All The Happy Sadness....

Well.
I did it.
Yesterday I sucked up my courage, marched into my boss' office, and told him I was resigning.
The poor man was TOTALLY blindsided.
He did NOT see it coming at all.
You'd have thought that my desk being cleared of all personal items and looking uncharacteristically clean would've been a hint.
But no.
Anyway.
I began to get a little weepy and he, in his stunned state responded to my "I'm gonna start crying here" by saying "Well cry, then, dammit. Make me feel better."
He didn't get the least bit angry at me.
He even started getting weepy too !
I felt guilty as hell and I know he saw that.
He was supportive of my decision but sad for himself.

When I told Heifer, however, she was just like "whatever" and couldn't've cared less.

Yenta is VERY distraught.
I feel so bad that I have to leave her to the wolves.

All of my friends who know are happy for me but sulking because they feel bad for themselves.

The tough part is over now.
The next two weeks are all I have to get through now.
My boss won't be there my last day - which is good on a few levels.
#1 - I'll have time to visit my friends and say my goodbyes
#2 - He and I can say goodbye the day before and, though it'll be sad, I'll still have one more day
and so on and so forth.

WHEW !

So now it's over !
It's over and the next two weeks are going to be work but joyous seeing as how that's all there is left !

NOW I can really begin to get excited about my new job and new company !
